Madera County , California
Welcome to the web site for the Madera County Superior Court which is located in the heart of California. The purpose of this website is to provide the people that live within our community, and anyone having access to the Internet with information about the Madera County Superior Courts. The Madera County Superior Court is comprised of seven judges and one commissioner. In downtown Madera there are four judges, three of which handle criminal calendars and one that handles the probate, civil and family law calendars. We also have one commissioner who handles family support, small claims and settlement conferences. There is a Branch Court in Bass Lake ( Sierra Court ) which handles all types of cases except non-traffic Juvenile Delinquency and Dependency Cases. There is the Borden Branch Court which handles Juvenile Cases, Education Code Cases, and Drug Court Cases. There is the Chowchilla Branch Court which handles all traffic cases except those within the Sierra Court jurisdiction. The Court wants you to be knowledgeable and feel comfortable when you come to the courthouse whether it is to pay a traffic ticket or appear in court on a serious criminal, juvenile or civil matter, either as a Plaintiff, Defendant or witness. The judges, commissioner, court administration and the support staff of the court system are committed to serving the public with a fair and efficient system of justice. We hope that our efforts will promote public trust, understanding and confidence in the justice system. We are continually trying to improve upon that goal by revising procedures and developing new and better programs to deal with society’s and the judicial systems changing needs. The Judiciary as the third branch of Government exists to serve the needs and protect the rights of individual and corporate citizens within our jurisdiction. In return for your respect and cooperation, we pledge to interpret and enforce the laws and decide disputes to the best of our individual abilities while respecting those who come before us. We hope that this website will provide meaningful public access to the public. Respectfully,
